Berr In Cups: Milk & Cookies

Welcome All Cookie Lovers!

It has been quite some time since I last sat down with you all.  Oh well, all that matters is that we are here once again.  Today I brought along a cute Peter Rabbit plate and cup set with milk and cookies.

Come sit down and have a bite!

Peter was not very well during the evening.  His mother put him to bed, and made some camomile tea: 'One table-spoonful to be taken at bed time.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you for joining me once again.
Take a cookie on the way out, and come again anytime!
Sincerely,
Berrington
Baking Day: Brownies (Oven Vs. "Babycakes Cupcake Maker" Part 2)
Hello Friends,
As promised this is the continuation of my two part series, Baking Day: Brownies (Oven Vs. "Babycakes Cupcake Maker Part 1").  In part 1 I taught you how to make your own batch of brownies using "Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix", and I made two batches myself.  One with the oven and one with my "Babycakes Cupcake Maker".
In this next part of my brownie baking day, I got together a group of the finest judges in the business, who are experienced tasters and chefs.  They will be tasting both brownies and seeing which brownie they like better.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please welcome...

 Chef Butler

 Chef Baxter

 Chef Droplet

 and Chef Berrington

Since dogs cannot eat chocolate, and therefore definitely not triple chocolate brownies, Buddy had to sit out on this one.  Sorry Buddy.

Today the judges will be tasting two different brownies:

Oven brownies

"Babycakes" Brownies

The two competitors side-by-side

Each judge will receive one oven brownie, one "Babycakes" brownie, a plate, a fork, and a napkin.
 So get your tasting materials, and let's get started!

Baking Day: Brownies (Oven Vs. "Babycakes Cupcake Maker" Part 1)

You know those days when you have the sudden urge to bake?  Today was one of those days for me.

So, I opened up my pantry and found a box of "Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix".  Perfect.  Next, I got out materials and other ingredients needed for the brownies.

Ingredients:
-1 package of "Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix"
-1 egg
-Non-stick cooking spray
-1/3 cup vegetable oil
-1/3 cup water

Materials:
-8x8 metal pan
-Medium sized mixing bowl
-Measuring cup
-Mixing tools (whisk, spatula, etc...)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Materials needed: Pan, mixing bowl, mixing tools, measuring cup
 Ingredients needed: Egg, brownie mix, vegetable oil, water, cooking spray
 Step 1: Mix together water, egg, and oil in medium sized bowl
 Step 2: Add brownie mix and mix thoroughly
 This is how your brownie mix should look after blending ingredients together
 Step 3: Pour brownie mix into metal pan
Step 4: Put brownie mix into oven at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While I was waiting for the brownies to come out of the oven, I got bored so I decided to make another batch.  However the second batch I decided to bake with my "Babycakes Cupcake Maker".

Sunday Brunch: Plumeria Beach House

My review of the restaurant, "Plumeria Beach House."  at the "Kahala Hotel & Resort".

The Plumeria Beach House
An open-air restaurant

The outside of the "Plumeria Beach House"

My first impression of the "Plumeria Beach House" was a good one.  The atmosphere was more than inviting, the food smelled good, and the view was great.

Atmosphere: 4.0/5.0

The wait for a table was a little long, but time passed quickly enough.

So far, my experience was top-notch.

Art All Around- Museum 1

You may not notice, but art is everywhere.  Art can be anything as simple as a bowl or as complex as a city.  Recently, I have become more interested in art than I was before.  I started to appreciate the smaller things in life.  And so, today I would like to share some of my favorite simple pieces of art.  Take a look:

Yummy, yummy, yummy!

Greetings Friends!

To help kick off the week I decided to share some photos from Liliha Bakery on the island of Oahu.  The bakery was filled to the brim with hungry customers craving some scrumptious snacks and treats.  Luckily, I managed to get some pictures of the actual food there, so feast your eyes on these babies!

 "Stolen" Bread and specialty designed cookies.

 An assortment of cakes.

I think I'm in pastry heaven!

 Some chiffon cakes and brownies.

Hallelujah!

Festive holiday treats and others.

 Ooh, yay!  A homemade gingerbread house.

Treats to die for!

Oh man...now I'm hungry!

P.S.- Here's a little activity:
Tell me which one of the pastries is your favorite in the comment section.

My Thanksgiving

Hi Readers!

Last night before my family began to dig into the food, I took some pictures from my family's Thanksgiving meal.  I posted the pictures because I thought that maybe you would like to see it too.

Here they are:

This is sushi: Rice with a topping that's wrapped in seaweed
(The sushi was bought)

We got to have some starch: Bread and mashed potatoes

Veggies!  Broccoli, carrots, and corn (and rice)

And...TURKEY!

That's basically it, but we also had a few more things like butternut squash.  Everything was very delicious thanks to my wonderful family.  Oh, and I sure did eat a lot!  See you next year Thanksgiving.

Everything Cupcakes!

Hey Everyone!

Since today is Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving is all about food, this holiday inspired me to do a post about some sort of snack.  Now, there are many types of yummy treats, but a very popular one is cupcakes.  So, without further delay, here is my blog post about the one, the only, CUPCAKES!

Cupcakes are basically little mini cakes with all types of frosting and decorations.  Common cupcakes include red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla.  People prefer cupcakes over cake because of its easy-to-eat size, and cute decorations.  I myself also prefer cupcakes as they are oh-so-delicious!

A very good family friend, Janelle, assisted by her able assistant, Donna, is very nifty with baking, and so they actually made some cupcakes for my family!  Here's a picture of the mouth-watering cupcakes:

Here's another shot:

So cute right?

Aren't they so talented?  My family is so lucky to have them as friends and bakers! ;)

Those cupcakes were flavored vanilla, but inside of it was dyed tie-dye!  The frosting is a special type that allows you to mold it into all kind of shapes and sizes.  The little "beads" on it are actually edible, like a little hard candy.

As you can see, cupcakes are very attractive and tempting.  If you have free time, why not make your own cupcakes?

And that's the scoop about cupcakes!
