Baking Day: Brownies (Oven Vs. "Babycakes Cupcake Maker" Part 1)

You know those days when you have the sudden urge to bake?  Today was one of those days for me.

So, I opened up my pantry and found a box of "Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix".  Perfect.  Next, I got out materials and other ingredients needed for the brownies.

Ingredients:
-1 package of "Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix"
-1 egg
-Non-stick cooking spray
-1/3 cup vegetable oil
-1/3 cup water

Materials:
-8x8 metal pan
-Medium sized mixing bowl
-Measuring cup
-Mixing tools (whisk, spatula, etc...)

Materials needed: Pan, mixing bowl, mixing tools, measuring cup

Ingredients needed: Egg, brownie mix, vegetable oil, water, cooking spray

Step 1: Mix together water, egg, and oil in medium sized bowl

Step 2: Add brownie mix and mix thoroughly

This is how your brownie mix should look after blending ingredients together

Step 3: Pour brownie mix into metal pan

Step 4: Put brownie mix into oven at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes

While I was waiting for the brownies to come out of the oven, I got bored so I decided to make another batch.  However the second batch I decided to bake with my "Babycakes Cupcake Maker".

  1. Hai Julia! Long time no see! Anyway... I see u have baked brownies. I baked brownies with my friend too :3
While we poured the mix into a pan, my brother and his friend ate the left over dollops of chocolate left in the bowl. It smelled delicious and looked great until we cut it. Then it crumbled. Maybe I could use a device like baby cakes to make my brownies look nice?

Also, back To your blog post. I get that feeling too! When I suddenly want to bake. Your brownies look really delicious and nice Julia. I will look forward to the tastings next time...... :D

    1. Hey Miyu,

It's so cool that you baked brownies like I did. Your brother and his friend are very lucky they got some of your chocolate creation!

Also, I have that same problem with brownies too. I think the main trick is to cut the brownies after they are completely cooled. Even if the brownies are slightly warm, they will break apart when you cut them. That's one reason why I like the "Babycakes Cupcake Maker", because the brownies come out perfect even when they are hot.
There are other pans out there for baking brownies which have slots that you can put in and take out to cut the brownies. My mom actually got one of those as a gift, but we found that it didn't work very well, and it was hard to clean.

So, I'm not the only one with that feeling huh? I get it when there's nothing to do and I'm just standing in the kitchen.

Thank you for commenting and Part 2 will be coming soon!
